After watching so many performances and wandering around Qingming Shangheyuan(Kaifeng City, Henan Province, China) for a whole day, I went back to the hotel at night, took a shower, set an alarm for 8:30 AM, and fell asleep.

I was sleeping soundly when I suddenly heard frantic car horns in my dream, honking on and on without stopping.

Suddenly I opened my eyes and realized it wasn’t a dream — a driver downstairs was furiously honking for dozens of seconds. I wasn’t annoyed, just felt it was really strange!

I checked the time — it was already 8:46 AM! I’d slept so deeply that I didn’t notice my 8:30 phone alarm at all!

Thanks to the car horns, we managed to have breakfast on time ✌. After breakfast, I went back to sleep and only came downstairs at noon.

I hadn’t noticed yesterday — it turns out these hanfu on the first floor of the hotel are free to try on; you just leave a deposit.

This hotel looks antique on the outside. Last night we stayed in this protruding room on the second floor — the bathroom was big, with a bathtub, and it only cost a few dozen yuan more than the other rooms. It was quite quiet, and mainly, you just cross a bridge to reach the main entrance of Qingming Shangheyuan, so I highly recommend staying here.

There were so many people at the main entrance — both big kids and little kids.

Although there’s a notice about it, it’s actually fake — you can still pass facial recognition while wearing glasses.

Just after entering, we ran into “The Heavenly Maiden Scattering Flowers” again. It’s beautiful even on a cloudy day, though a phone can’t really capture it.

Fairy

So funny — there was an elderly person who didn’t want to leave and waited for the next show to watch it again.

We left first and saw a museum nearby, so we went in for a look. I found a beautiful indoor scene, but unfortunately we couldn’t walk in to take photos.

Coming out, I ran into “sword flight” again. This time the wind wasn’t strong, so the performer finally glided over.

He could even do a handstand! The live performance is far more stunning than the photos — if you ever get the chance, you really should experience it in person~

It was already 1:30 PM after watching. Let’s head over to the other side to see what performances are on.

On the way, I saw lots of beautiful women, and many tourists and NPCs were very handsome and beautiful — it’s just that it feels awkward to take photos of others directly 😄.

We planned to queue for the 2:30 PM “Soaring Over Qingming Shangheyuan” show. No extra ticket needed — just the 128-yuan ticket, or the 158-yuan annual pass for unlimited entries.

It’s an experience similar to Disney’s “Soaring Over the Horizon” — a 3D big screen that makes you feel like you’ve entered the painting.

Last time we queued for half an hour. I wonder how long it’ll take this time. Suddenly I spotted a “flower thief” picking real flowers from the scenic area and even tucking one into their hair 💣

After queueing for a full hour, we finally got in…

Coming out, I saw four roly-poly beauties standing on scaffolding — they looked like so much fun, haha~

Qingming Shangheyuan really is low in price and high in quality. A ticket of just over a hundred yuan lets you see so many wonderful performances, big and small, and the shows are constantly updated — it’s genuinely worth visiting again and again.

I enjoy slow-paced travel and never do rushed, check-the-box sightseeing. If you also like this style of traveling, feel free to follow, like, save, comment, and share. Thank you for reading this far~
